Week 42: weathering spreads across the metal props
This stretch was about making the metal in the world look like it has been left out in the weather for years, because in a city built to look perfect on the surface, the cracks are the part that tells the story.
Weathering on metal props
We added a weathering layer to metal props across the environments. Rust and wear now come from one shared height-based function, so grime gathers in the same kinds of places and edges wear down consistently, whichever prop or material you are looking at. For now it is applied to the props in the industrial and dungeon material sets.
The practical effect is that old pipes, railings and gates read as old without each one being touched up by hand. [screenshot of weathered props in the industrial set]

New assets
We also added a batch of new assets this period. [list the new assets, e.g. props, tiles or characters, and where they appear]
What’s next
[A line or two on what comes next, e.g. extending the weathering to other material sets.]
